Puerto Rico Suspends Controlled Substance Applications

The Puerto Rico Department of Health recently suspended controlled substance applications pending a new executive order and the appointment of a new Assistant Secretary/Director.

SARPS and the Office of Investigation are working diligently on approving orders but have not begun issuing certificates at this time. This has temporarily put all Controlled Substance licenses on hold for both new initial applications as well as license renewals.

The PR Department of Health has officially announced the appointment of Kevin O Rajas Collazo as the new Assistant Secretary/Director. This appointment signals a positive step forward, and we anticipate forward movement on the pending executive order from the Office of Investigation regarding controlled substance registration.
